Miami architecture has been at the forefront of Chic and Nouveau since its inception dating back to Carl Fisher and his dreams of what Miami would be. Its newness and bold look has been evident through the eras, never the same, always changing and ever adapting to its surroundings. Its visual difference is unlike any other city and noticeable from building to building and its skyline forms a kaleidoscope of innovative style which is candy to our eyes creating an ambience of function and pleasure for those who live there and for the tourist Mecca it has become.

In its palm fringed avenues with scantily dressed residents Miami has become the dream commission of world known designers particularly in the downtown and beach areas. The buildings are lively with airy and spacious connections becoming world renown and are constantly reinventing themselves while holding on to its cultural influence.
Carl fisher got the credit for Miami Beaches’ adaptation of Mediterranean architecture and soon after architects influenced by the Art Deco movement of Europe moved to the Magic city to apply their designs to the tropical feel and look of the city. The buildings became streamlined with a nautical flair that accompanied the sea, sun and surf. The hum drum of the past was out and the new and bold became its signature. The materials of the past were put aside for a newer and lighter look with the use of Stucco, Terrazzo and glass to name a few.
From the Mangrove swamps and Palm, Pine, and live Oak forests Miami was transformed into a visual paradise dreamed up from the minds of innovative and forward thinking designers willing to let go of the norm. Miami’s architecture was not only functional but became visually sensual to enjoy at every turn which brought tourists in by the millions creating its well known pedestrian atmosphere.
Recently Miami’s architecture with its resident icons, the Fontainebleau Hotel and the Eden Roc were renamed – MiMo – for Miami Modern.
     But in this modern age of travel and easy access too many destinations, and the economical collapse of the 70’s and 80’s Miami lost its luster and some of its influence. In the late 70’s Miami’s Art Deco district of the past was put on the National Historic Registry and the area was restored to prominence making it Chic and shifting thought back to the Magic City, once again bringing back people and value to the once forlorn area which had fallen into decay.
      Thanks in part to a new visually vibrant television show called “Miami Vice” that featured Miami as its backdrop, the city was revitalized and it brought back relevance and international attention, and the people came running to Miami once again.
     Pastel colored buildings and mirrored towers became what people thought of when they thought of Miami. It was edgy and experimental and a pleasure for everyone to gazed upon it.
     But the Magic Cities architecture wasn’t done, and through the 80’s and 90’s it was evolving once again and a big push to designate more areas as Historical was made and eventually named 11 more as such.
     Miami is a city which has always put civic pride first, thus designers have incorporated the indoors with the outdoors. Many world famous architectural firms such as Herzog and de Meuron to name one have helped change the landscape and look of the Magic City. For years the city committed itself to reclaiming public spaces like Lincoln Road in Miami Beach which became an outdoor living area for people to enjoy shopping while connecting with Mother Nature.
     Downtown Miami’s effervescent skyline meshed residential buildings with its multifaceted cultural makeup making it a place to enjoy with all your senses and a true one of a kind destination.
     The Miami art Museum is a great example of innovative design and is scheduled to open in 2013. It has incorporated large balconies with spacious outdoor spaces and multiple levels adding once again to the wonders of the city’s innovative designers making it unique in a world of copycat designers.
     The economic crisis which has gripped the world today has made waterfront properties which were once out of reach viable for purchase and developing, and Miami has become a prime location for developers again.
     A Malaysian firm recently purchased the land surrounding the Miami Herald building and is planning on creating a 3 billion dollar complex which will once again change the face of the Magic City in a new, innovative, and eye catching way incorporating residential, shopping, and public areas on the waterfront with spectacular views of the city and ocean beyond.
     A new and exciting group of designers are now building in Miami for the first time, and they’re not trying to recreate the Art Deco designs or the MiMo features of years past, but are adding to the skyline with a Latin American flavor and tropical feel. It won’t be the glitzy forms of yesteryear but a subtle balance which will be uniquely Miami, taking into consideration its cultural mix and paying much more attention to detail instead of flash and adapting its designs more to the city’s tropical surroundings and feel.
     Miami is refreshingly sophisticated and unique but does not take itself too seriously which will create a skyline that will be a joy to look at and its spaces  a wonder to live in, work in and relax in. The future of Miami’s architectural designs is in good hands. The tropical lushness which is Miami and the beautiful buildings will be a wonder for all to enjoy.

¡En un abrir y cerrar de ojos pasaron los 12 doce meses del nuevo año! ‘Tu’ estas haciendo lo mismo que el 31 de Diciembre pasado… escuchando los mismos 12 campanazos mientras pides fervorosamente los mismos 12 deseos de siempre en el transcurso de atragantarte las 12 uvas para que esos deseos se cumplan aunque el año pasado no se realizaron! ¡Pareciera que has vivido esta experiencia en otras vidas pasadas…! ¡No, te das cuenta que ha sido en esta vida! Entonces te preguntas: ¿Porque a otros se le dan las cosas que quieren y a mi no?

Cambiar de país de repente no es algo fácil.  En nuestro país tenemos nuestras raíces, nuestra vida, familia y estabilidad. Esa estabilidad se traduce en un próspero negocio, una profesión reconocida, propiedades y la tranquilidad de sentir que se conocen el mercado y el medio, lo cual nos trae progreso y felicidad a nivel personal y familiar.

La emigración es un proceso continuo e indetenible. Razones políticas, seguridad personal, persecuciones, búsqueda de mejores ambientes intelectuales o simplemente la mera curiosidad de conocer y convivir con otros grupos humanos, nos ha movido desde los tiempos más remotos de los que se tenga memoria, a emigrar, individual, familiar o masivamente.

Pero al entrar en el área intelectual y analítica de lo que un proceso de inmigración implica, tenemos que estar claros que  llegar a una nueva sociedad, nos enfrenta a una nueva realidad con valores, preceptos y conductas diferentes.

Pero para poder surgir en la nueva sociedad de carácter competitivo es muy importante el integrarse a ella mediante el estudio de la historia, su cultura, su idioma y costumbres.  Un nuevo marco legal rige estrictamente nuestra nueva vida.  Hay que conocerlo al detalle.

No vamos a lograr esa  integración a menos que hablemos diariamente como personas, realmente integradas, a la nueva cultura y sociedad.

Llegar a ese punto requiere mucho esfuerzo y mucho estudio. También requiere fortaleza de carácter y mucha constancia. Pero ante todo, requiere un Plan. Un Plan escrito que podamos leer y revisar si se va cumpliendo y sobre todo el poder medir en qué grado vamos progresando.

Cada integrante de la familia debe tener su Plan y regularmente debemos reunirnos en nuestro grupo familiar y revisar los niveles de cumplimiento y ayudarnos los unos a los otros a alcanzar las metas.

La elaboración de ese Plan requiere un estudio de nuestras habilidades, nuestras fortalezas y debilidades. Lo anterior es elemental para desarrollar un plan de acción con metas realizables y que nos permita recibir la recompensa de las metas alcanzadas y siempre buscar una nueva, más arriba, más perfecta, en síntesis, mejor.

El sistema de impuestos es complejo, busque ayuda de un profesional reconocido. No regatee esos honorarios ya que a la larga le saldrán más baratos. Por favor, …. conduzca de acuerdo a las normas, más temprano que tarde va a recibir su primer ticket si no lee los avisos mientras conduce.  Y si le gusta tomar un trago de vez en cuando, en esas ocasiones, no conduzca.  Un DUI (Driving Under the Influence) puede ser demoledor para su situación inmigratoria.

Este es un País de especializaciones y el ser un buen especialista en su área va a ser determinante para que el Mercado lo vea con buenos ojos y reconozca en usted a un verdadero experto que les va a prestar excelentes servicios o bienes.

-          Aprenda a diferenciar la Sociedad de Vendedores de la que venimos con la Sociedad de Compradores a la que está insertándose.   Fue en USA que se originó la fama del dicho que “el cliente siempre tiene la razón”.  Traemos una estructura mental/comercial en la que el Vendedor es el que tiene, no solo la fuerza de negociación, sino también, la razón.  Aquí en USA el Cliente lo es todo.  La oferta comercial en esa área que usted elija, es tan abundante, que solo construyendo relaciones con sus clientes es que verá crecer su negocio. Sin embargo nunca olvide al precio. -          Luego de definido el lugar de trabajo, decida inteligentemente donde vivir.  Piense en la distancia al trabajo (resulta abrumador el recorrer grandes distancias diariamente entre casa y trabajo).  Según su capacidad económica decida entre alquilar o comprar.  Recuerde que comprar en USA es fácil, no lo compare con las compras en su país de origen.  Lo más importante, si tiene hijos menores, analice los colegios públicos del área, esto es determinante.  Las escuelas privadas son tan buenas como las mejores escuelas públicas.  Su bolsillo le va a agradecer después de varios años, el haber elegido una escuela pública de alta calificación.

-          Relaciónese con personas de habla inglesa, no le tema a hablar por teléfono en Inglés, inscríbase en una escuela pública de Inglés, hable lo más que pueda Inglés, escuche emisoras de radio y TV en Inglés.  No importa que usted viva en el corazón de Miami donde cuesta mucho encontrar alguien que no hable Español; usted se ha mudado a los Estados Unidos de América y más temprano que tarde va a necesitar el expresarse y entender el Inglés para asuntos personales y de negocios que le son importantes. Pero ojo, no le niegue a sus hijos el hablar correctamente Español. Del Inglés de ellos, ya se van a encargar en la Escuela, pero el hablar Español en casa les va a permitir ser bilingües el resto de su vida.

Si usted o su pareja, o ambos,  son profesionales de carrera, trate de hacer valer sus estudios en este País. El GED (General Education Development) los ayuda a superar los obstáculos educativos.  Trate de revalidar su Título y si no puede, estudie, estudie, estudie, vuelva a ponerse a la altura de la situación académica que tuvo en su país.  No se deje abrumar por el trabajo y siempre deje un espacio al estudio.  Las posibilidades son muchas y variadas.

It doesn’t mean that you want your home to look uninteresting, so choosing the right decoration, the minimalist way, will help you make your home look simple, but stunning. You can use different types of plants to add accent to your homes surroundings and you can also use plants inside your home. Use of plants is a more natural way of decorating a home.

4) Lastly, think of the other furniture that you already have in your place. Keep in mind that the quality of the furniture is more important than the quantity. Choose the correct material of the minimalist furniture you want to buy. Using tinted windows or windows with grills will help you save on using curtains. Window grills will make you feel safe and tinted windows will give you some sense of privacy as well. You can enjoy the fresh air by eradicating the use of curtains.

Sonrisa Vertical , un espectáculo teatral que encierra un sin fin de preguntas,  es un rompecabezas en el que varios personajes limítrofes exploran distintas inquietudes que recorren el cuerpo de la mujer. Una mujer, o mil mujeres. Preguntas y respuestas que fueron develadas ante el ansioso público que se dio cita el pasado fin de semana, llenando la sala en sus primeras presentaciones. Empezando por el día del estreno con la asistencia de colegas actores como el actor Osvaldo Ríos quien viajo desde México especialmente para la ocasión y al mismo tiempo la prensa  dijo presente también en este gran día.

More than 60% of sites that have been designed by web development companies or internally weren’t designed to optimize search engine compatibility. Most designers just do the basics; adding a keyword or two in the copy and putting hidden search words and phrases in the meta tags and page title.

Unfortunately, these don’t get you in the rankings these days. Instead of putting together a site with a strong presence on the Internet, they gave you the equivalent of a car without an engine, letting you figure out how to get it down the highway yourself.

First, web designers like to pretend they are in a mysterious business with lots of secrets. Don’t let Chi walk out. If you have a front door or window that aligns with a back door or window, use a screen or some furniture to block the path. That way Chi can’t leave your house immediately.

Lighten up. Dark corridors or halls aren’t friendly places for good Chi. Bad Chi will stay inside your home, trapped in these areas while it prevents good Chi from entering and moving about the space freely.

Fishy, isn’t it? An aquarium is good for Chi. Place it facing the front door. An aquarium or fountain is also good in the southeast of your home if you want to attract wealth, the southwest for marriage, the east for friends, the north for career or the northeast for education.

Don’t be in the dark. No room in your home should ever be dark for long periods of time. Negative Chi will reside there. Keep the door open and let natural light flow in whenever possible.

Be smooth, not sharp. Whenever possible, go with rounded and smooth objects instead of those with sharp edges, or jagged edges like a knife. Rounded things encourage good energy to flow freely.

If you have a little trouble believing in any of this, trust that the Chinese have been using Feng Shui for thousands of years. It is a foundation that has proven itself over and over in the homes of millions worldwide for more than 5,000 years.

Kilómetros de Amor

Este cantante venezolano de merengue Omar Enrique, género que se ha dedicado a interpretar desde que inicio su ascendente carrera artística, a quien han dado el título en Venezuela de  “El Príncipe del Merengue”, con su séptima producción Discográfica titulada “Kilómetros de Amor”, ha alcanzado su consolidación artística, que inicio desde hace 15 años .

Además de los dúos que ha grabado en sus otras producciones con los reconocidos merengueros dominicanos, interpretes oriundos del género que eligió, tales como el Mayimbe Fernandino Villalona del tema “Cama y Mesa” con Rubby Pérez del tema “Enamorado de ella” con la cantante de 440 Adalgisa Pantaleón del tema “Quiero hacerte el amor”, ahora graba en esta producción, con el conocido cantante dominicano Sergio Vargas, el tema que este popularizó hace mas de veinte años, “Los Diseñadores” y con el compositor y cantante Bonny Cepeda, graba uno de los temas de Bonny  que no solo lo internacionalizó, sino que pertenece a los clásicos del merengue “La Fotografía”.

Omar Enrique tardó dos años en realizar este disco, poniendo un gran esmero en la selección de los temas, grabación, mezcla y  pasterización. El es además su propio productor, y cuando se le pregunto sobre esta propuesta  que denominó Kilómetros de Amor dice: “Quise  hacer  un disco que llegue a los sentimientos más profundos, con temas cargados de magia y sobre todo de mucho romanticismo, aunque predomine el merengue”.

Omar Enrique ha logrado mantener sus temas, en  los primeros lugares del Record Report  nacional, sus presentaciones a lo largo y ancho del país son un rotundo éxito, logrando en cada una de ellas grandes concentraciones de público, ya que sus show, además de su desbordante energía,  va  acompañado  de  una gran  calidad  musical,  vocal y artística.

Omar Enrique obtuvo varios de los más prestigiosos galardones del país y el extranjero,  que premian el talento  de  artistas  nacionales   e internacionales, entre los que cuenta con: tres (3) Orquídeas de Platino, 2002, 2003 y 2005 otorgadas en el famoso Festival de la Orquídea, cinco (5) Águilas de Venezuela recibiendo la versión especial Platino como representante  artístico  del   País  a nivel Internacional;  diez (10) premios Mara de Oro, desde el año 1997,  recibiendo en el 2005 la versión Platino de este premio por su brillante labor como cantante nacional e internacional y mejor cantante de Merengue de Venezuela; en el 2007 la versión Diamante.

También recibió el premio Mar de Plata 2002, Exa Award  2003, otorgado en la Isla de Curacao,  fue galardonado en Enero de 2004, con la Orden San Sebastián en su Primera Clase, y en Septiembre de 2004, con la Orden Ciudad de Maracaibo en su Primera Clase, como artista más representativo del Estado Zulia, premios que otorga la Cámara Municipal de la Ciudad de Maracaibo a través de su Alcaldía en acto Solemne. Goza además de un lugar en la galería de artistas zulianos denominada “Huellas del Zulia”.

Prenominado para la 5a entrega de los Grammy Latinos 2004, en la categoría “Mejor Álbum de Merengue”, con su producción “Necesito de ti”, y en Marzo de 2007,  recibió el premio Casandra Internacional en República Dominicana, en reconocimiento a su trayectoria internacional como interprete de Merengue.

Omar Enrique, es el artista venezolano que ha batido todos los records de mayor público en presentaciones en el 2006, 2007 y 2008, en todo el país,  dentro de las que se cuentan 4 conciertos en la ciudad de Miami, 12 en Santo Domingo y 15 en Colombia.

Con esta producción “Kilómetros de amor” el carismático cantante ha logrado no solo su consolidación nacional sino también  internacional entre los primeros 10 de Billboard.
